OREANDA-NEWS. July 31, 2013. Franco Biondi Santi - Tenuta Greppo, an Italy-based vineyard and winery run by Biondi-Santi family, is to expand its business into China by exporting its wines.

The winery has partnered with Chinese wine import business ASC Fine Wines to bring its three selections, the Brunello di Montalcino, the Brunello di Montalcino Riserva, and the Rosso di Montalcino, to China.

The Brunello di Montalcino is made from Sangiovese Grosso grapes that were later renamed to Brunello. These grapes were sourced from vines older than 10-25 years, reported ChinaDaily Europe.

The Brunello di Montalcino Riserva series is a collection of wines that can be aged for around 100 years.

Among the collection of wines, the Brunello di Montalcino Riserva 1955 was said to be the favorite wine of the Queen of England in 1969.

The Rosso di Montalcino is made from grapes of vines that are less than a decade old.

Biondi Santi owner Jacopo Biondi-Santi was quoted by the website as saying that Rosso as an entry level of the Brunello series will guide drinkers to get used to the taste of Brunello.

"Drinkers starting with Rosso will eventually become followers of the Brunello di Montalcino," he added.
