OREANDA-NEWS.  July 31, 2013. "Uzbektelecom" Joint Stock Company introduced the possibility of payment for the services provided via Internet using standard plastic cards of EMV standard.

Holders of online cards without leaving home will be able to pay for fixed telephony, Internet, mobile services and IPTV with their cards.

"The purpose of introduction of online payment system is, of course, the creation of additional amenities for our subscribers" - said the director of sales department of "Uzbektelecom" JSC Shukhrat Tuhtabaev. - The implementation of this possibility will also allow us to optimize the process of receiving payments, as the company will be able to partially relieve sales offices".

For on-line payment the owner of UZKARD EMV card should be connected to SMS-information service on mobile phone (this is done at the issuing bank). In addition, a registration in the personal cabinet on uzkard.uz site is needed.

The process of online payment.
To pay for services of "Uzbektelecom" via Internet it is necessary to go to uzonline.uz or uzmobile.uz website and click on "Online Payment".

On the next billing page (as an example, the payment for internet services page is given), the user enters his account number and security code.

In the next step, the user must confirm the account number and specify the amount of payment.

The payment for IPTV services and telephony is made in a similar way.

After filling out the required fields, a transition to the portal of Common republican processing center (CRPC) shall be made, where you must specify the card number, expiration date and click on "Get a dynamic password."

After receiving a temporary password to mobile phone, the user enters it on the same page along with the password from personal cabinet on UZKARD site and presses the "Pay" button. At this point, the payment is made, in confirmation of which the receipt of payment is formed.

The receipt is displayed in PDF format, which eliminates the possibility of its change. The user can optionally save or print the document.

Security issues
As you can see from the above process of payment, Uzbekistan took serious measures of security of online payments, by introducing a mandatory procedure for obtaining a temporary password via SMS at each payment. It's no secret that increasing the amount of money that pass through bank cards around the world, has led to the problem of large-scale fraud in online banking. The method applied in Uzbekistan is designed to prevent such incidents.
