OREANDA-NEWS. FHI Announces Production, Japan Sales and Export Results for June 2013

Production in June 2013
Domestic production: 52,162 units (up 3.8% year-on-year)
Overseas production: 13,366 units (down 10.6% year-on-year)
Total: 65,428 units (up 0.5% year-on-year).

Production in Jan-Jun 2013
Domestic production: 310,472 units (up 11.1% year-on-year)
Overseas production: 93,795 units (down 4.5% year-on-year)
Total: 404,267 units (up 7.0% year-on-year).

Led by high demand for the Forester, June domestic production rose from a year ago for the 6th straight month. Overseas production declined year over year for the second month in a row. Global production grew from the previous year for the 6th consecutive month, posting an all-time June production record.

Driven by the strong demand for the Forester and the Impreza series, domestic production for Jan-Jun period increased from last year for the second consecutive year. Overseas production for the six months posted the first year-over-year decrease in 4 years. Global production set an all-time record for Jan-Jun period two years in a row.


Japan Sales in June 2013
Passenger vehicles: 10,595 units (up 33.1% year-on-year)
Mini vehicles: 4,473 units (up 15.8% year-on-year)
Total: 15,068 units (up 13.5% year-on-year).

Japan Sales in Jan-Jun 2013
Passenger vehicles: 66,616 units (up 39.1% year-on-year)
Mini vehicles: 28,716 units (down 38.7% year-on-year)
Total: 95,332 units (down 0.6% year-on-year)

With strong sales of the Forester and other popular models including the Subaru XV, domestic sales of passenger cars increased from a year ago for the 13th straight month. Mini vehicle sales declined year over year for the second month in a row. Total Japan sales rose from the previous year for the third consecutive month.

Driven by high demand for the Subaru XV launched last fall and the new Forester as well as the Impreza's strong sales continuing from 2012, domestic sales for Jan-Jun period increased year over year for two years in a row.

Export in June 2013: 39,383 units (up 26.4% year-on-year)
Export Export in Jan-Jun 2013: 216,563 units (up 13.7% year-on-year)

Propelled by North America's strong sales, June CBU exports set an all-time monthly record.

With high demand for the Forester and Impreza series in overseas markets especially in North America, CBU exports for the first six months of 2013 posted an all-time record for Jun-Jan period two years in a row.
