OREANDA-NEWS. A unique press tour of the new main Terminal was organized for St.Petersburg journalists and bloggers on July 23 2013.

90% ready new Terminal interiors were shown to the guests who saw Arrival and Departure halls, check in zone, luggage claim zone and retail areas in Pulkovo Terminal. Finishing works are conducted on the facade, walls,ceilings and floors. Fire fighting, control and security systems are being installed. Concrete and metal installation works are conducted on the Landside. 75% of finishing works have been completed. Concrete works and installation of technical equipment are performed in the multi-level parking. Finishing works are conducted in the Hotel and Business center.

A new Pulkovo luggage system ( total length of the conveyor belts,5 kilometers and maximum capacity,4,800 pieces/hour) was demonstrated to the first visitors. This fully automated luggage system processes luggage from the check in to the make up and is practically unmanned. Luggage is identified, security checked, sorted out as to the departure time. Then it gets to the make up zone and to the corresponding belt in accordance with the timetable. Moreover, a new luggage system controls luggage reloading from the conveyer and its further make up for the luggage container.

Radisson Park Inn Hotel, Business Center and a multi-level Parking were shown to the guests on the Landside.
