OREANDA-NEWS. Kirov-Energomash, a subsidiary of the Kirov Group, has manufactured and successfully tested equipment for the Beloyarsk Nuclear Power Station worth USD 15.3 million.

According to two federal contracts worth more than USD 15.3 million, Kirov-Energomash manufactured parts for large and small rotating plugs with actuators for the BH-800 reactor that will be installed at the fourth power-generating unit of the power station. The subsidiary of the Kirov Group also conducted a number of successful tests of the parts for the power station.

Representatives of the Beloyarsk Nuclear Power Station, Afrikantov Experimental Design Bureau for Mechanical Engineering and other contractors attended the final testing stage of the equipment and declared it qualifying to technical standards. As soon as final arrangements and packaging are completed, the manufactured parts that weigh more than 110 tons and are seven meters high will be delivered to Beloyarsk.

Beside the rotating plugs, Kirov-Energomash also manufactured actuating and transducer units for the power-generating unit of the Beloyarsk Nuclear Power Station. It is planned to launch the reactor at the end of 2013 and to start up the power unit the year after. The rotating plugs with actuators are designed to provide thermal and biological protection to the power-generating unit.
