President Jia Baojun and his party visited and investigated some overseas enterprises of the Sinosteel Corp. and inspected the application effect of making up deficits and increasing surplus measures so as to promote the implementation of the “three strides forward in three years” of Sinosteel Corp. through comprehensive safe production inspection of relevant enterprises according to the deployment. He also visited business cooperation partners, vice president of Zimbabwe Mujuru and Chinese ambassador in Zimbabwe. Mr. Liu Andong, Gong Jingshen, Lu Pengcheng and some others accompanied in relevant activities respectively.   

President Jia and his party arrived at Singapore Company of the Sinosteel Corp. for investigation convening a forum in which he listened to an overall work report and affirmatively confirmed the achievements the Singapore Company made in prudent operation during the past years. He also expressed his hope that the company could make full use of its unique location to promote business profits.  

President Jia and his party arrived at South Africa and inspected four enterprises including South Africa Chromium Company of the Sinosteel Corp. He convened the symposium to do focused research on the implementation development of making up deficits in ASA and increasing surplus in Samancor Company. An in-depth discussion and exploration was carried forward between President Jia and the enterprise management group in terms of business operation. He pointed out four requirements for the work in the next stage: first, implement all measures specifically in accordance with the overall deployment of the company; second, accelerate solving key problems, vitalizing current investment and designing the long-term development of the enterprises belonging to Sinosteel Corp. in South Africa; third, grasp the key issue in making up deficit and increasing surplus of ASA, and solve the problem in ore supply; fourth, promote management level of the overseas enterprises and optimize their management control mechanism and process.   

President Jia and his party investigated the subsidiary enterprises of the Sinosteel Corp. through visiting mines and factories. Four conferences were convened for him to inspect the implementation of measures making up for deficit and increasing surplus. In the midday of 25, President and his party rushed to Harare Headquarters directly after flight to meet with the Chinese management group and local management group. Both the Chinese and the Zimbabwe management groups made work report to President Jia. On June 26, President Jia arrived at Shulugui Mine and Kuikui Refinery Plant after four hours of driving for investigation. During the inspection, President Jia highly appraised the achievements made in Zimbabwe chromium industry by the new group. He also put forward some requirements for work in the next step.

President Jia and his party arrived at Cameroon Company of the Sinosteel Corp. for investigation and then he was invited to visit Ukraine. During his visit in Cameroon, President Jia and his party tramped for two consecutive days in order to inspect the progress of Lobi Iron Ore Mine, deepwater port construction in Cree and natural gas power station project, etc. to gain knowledge about the coastal economy, industrial allocation in Cameroon and economic situation in central wet African countries. President Jia stressed that this investigation was just the beginning of the Sinosteel Corp. in the new stage. He called for the working staff to stand at a high strategic position, attach importance to future development of African economies, pay great attention to resource energy related projects for their significance and carry forward strategic resolutions of the enterprise in a down-to-earth way. In Ukraine, President met with president Amir  Aisautov and CEO Lgor Syry from Metinvest Group. During the meeting, both sides agreed to establish long-term and stable strategic cooperation in the global sphere to cope with serious challenges in iron and steel industry.  

During the investigation, President Jia paid a special visit to Vice President Mujuru of Zimbabwe. Both parties exchanged views and reached an agreement about the economic development in Zimbabwe and other parts of the world, development of the Zimasco company of Sinosteel Corp. In Zimbabwe and a further expansion of cooperation field. Besides, President Jia and his party also visited Chinese ambassadors in South Africa, Zimbabwe, Cameroon and Ukraine respectively to exchange views about supporting development of Sinosteel Corp. and local economic situation trend, regional future development potential and opportunities faced up by Sinosteel Corp. He also met with high management personnel from Holland Rhine Mineral Trading Group, Umetal Company and Deepwater Port Project Department in Cree to hold meeting over related cooperation.

As an important work in this visit, President Jia conducted a systematic inspection of sate production work in overseas enterprises in accordance with requirements set out by the central department and the group. He inspected the fire drill of the refinery plant in Zimbabwe.
