Pulkovo Airport Became Best in Aviation Marketing among CIS Airports
OREANDA-NEWS. Pulkovo International Airport has been recognized as the best one in the aviation marketing among CIS airports with the passenger traffic flow exceeding four million passengers a year. Routes CIS Airport Marketing Awards ceremony was held on the 22nd of June, 2013 in Donetsk as part of Routes CIS Forum.
Routes CIS Marketing Awards is an annual award representing the aviation community’s recognition of an airport’s success in development of the route network, cooperation with the air carriers, promotion and employment of marketing innovative instruments, partner programs. Award winners are determined by voting among the airlines and the industry experts. Last year Pulkovo Airport also won this prestigious award and the title of the total winner in CIS.
Northern Capital Gateway LLC makes energetic efforts to determine popular destinations and involvement of airlines. In 2012 the results of these efforts are associated with appearance of 6 new air carriers at Pulkovo (Aegean Airlines, Air One, Air Onix, Avia Traffic Company, Blue Bird Airways, Blue Panorama Airlines) and launch of 21 scheduled routes.
During the first half of 2013, 7 new companies started their to operate their flights to the Northern Capital (Ukraine International Airlines, UTair-Ukraine, Icelandair, Kostroma Air Enterprise, East Air, Tunisair, Iberia Express), the map of routes from Saint-Petersburg has added such new unique destinations as Reykjavik, Budapest, Alexandroupolis, etc.
By individualizing each aviation client, the Airport is developing and implementing the advertising and information support of its partners. Since 2011 Pulkovo has been providing a bonus program that encourages carriers who launch new scheduled flights and increase flight frequency on the existing routes. In early July 2013, the Airline marketing support program was also introduced.
The Airport cooperates actively not only with the carriers but with all participants of the tourism market. In 2013 the new format for presenting the airport seasonal schedule to the public was established - “2013 Summer Novelties” event that became the meeting platform for airlines, tour operators and mass media and that received favourable reviews of the participants.
