OREANDA-NEWS. July 25, 2013. The Ministry of Justice has provided free primary legal aid to 94 thousand people in Ukraine in the first half of 2013. For comparison, in the first half of 2012 officers of justice provided such aid to 90 thousand people.

Most active in providing primary legal aid were district administration of justice in the Mykolaiv region (on average every Department of Justice provided 328 consultation with the average rate in Ukraine - 148), Lviv (292), Ternopil (238), Khmelnitsky (209), Cherkasy (195) Carpathian (190), Vinnitsa (184), Dnipropetrovsk (181), Poltava (173), Luhansk (166) regions.

Among community liaison offices created under the Main Department of Justice, the average figure is 394 such offices.

In the first half of 2013 staff of main and district departments of Justice took part in the work of 901 community liaison offices.

Employees of bodies of Justice participated in the work of 2101 off-site consultation offices, which made 4325 off-site offices, resulting 16 913 residents of remote rural areas have received legal aid.

This activity is particularly relevant for the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, as rural residents, who are mostly elderly, are unable to obtain legal aid for a number of reasons.
