OREANDA-NEWS. July 24, 2013. From the beginning of the year, domestic farmers attracted UAH 7.3 billion of loans, which is in 1.2 times more than last year. These funds are sent by farmers, including for the spring sowing and harvesting campaigns. About 2 000 agrarian producers used bank lending for six months. This was announced by Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Mykola Prysyazhnyuk.

"The Government strongly promotes increase in financing for agrarian producers, including through bank loans. And now, farmers continue to actively cooperate with commercial banks in the regions," Mykola Prysyazhnyuk pointed out.

So, as of July 19 agrarian producers borrowed in banks UAH 7.3 billion, which is in 1.2 times more than in the corresponding period of last year, when farmers raised UAH 5.8 billion. Overall, nearly 2 000 agrarian producers have taken loans in banks.

According to the Minister, more farmers from Mykolaiv, Cherkasy, Ternopil and Vinnytsya regions attracted loans most of all. Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk and Poltava region are actively working in this direction.

"Farmers have proved themselves to be responsible borrowers. Therefore, if necessary, the banks meet the needs and prolong loans taken during the past years," the Minister said.
