OREANDA-NEWS. Shri Ansuman Das, who was holding the additional charge of the Chairman-cum-Managing Director of Navratna PSU, National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) has now taken over as the full-time CMD of the company, as per Govt. of India order dated 19.07.2013.

Shri Das graduated in Mechanical Engineering from REC, Rourkela (Now National Institute of Technology) in 1976, and has done his MBA from University of Hull, U.K, with a British Council Scholarship under the Colombo Plan. He started his career with the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited and joined NALCO in 1982 in the formative years as Senior Engineer in Project and Technical services.

Shri Das has worked in various capacities in NALCO. Subsequently, he rose to the level of General Manager (Marketing) and was instrumental in formation of various Marketing Policies and Strategies both for domestic and overseas sales and launching almost all the value added products of NALCO. NALCO has achieved several milestones and accolades through the initiatives of Shri Das and his team.

Shri Das was head of the Materials department as its Executive Director for a brief period before taking over as Director(Commercial) of NALCO in October 2009.

Shri Das was also holding the additional charge of Director (Human Resources) for a brief period in 2012, and now holds the additional charge of Director (Finance).

With his three decades long professional association with the Aluminium Industry, Shri Das is very well known both nationally and internationally for his contribution to the industry.

It may be mentioned that Shri Das was given the additional charge of CMD of the company in August, 2012. With his taking over as the full-time CMD, NALCO’s various expansion programmes and ongoing projects are slated to get further boost.
