China First-Half Crude-Oil Imports Fall 1,4%
OREANDA-NEWS. July 22, 2013. China imported 138.17 million metric tons of crude oil in the first half of 2013, equivalent to 5.6 million barrels a day, preliminary data from the General Administration of Customs showed.
China's crude imports in the first half of 2013 were 1.4% lower than the same period in 2012, preliminary data showed.
Meanwhile, China imported 22.17 million metric tons of crude just in June, according to the data.
June imports were 2.1% higher than the 21.72 million tons of crude shipped in the same month last year, and down around 7.4% from 23.95 million tons in May, according to Dow Jones Newswires' calculation.
June refined oil-product imports totaled 3.28 million tons, while exports totaled 1.99 million tons, the data showed.
China exported 30,000 tons of crude oil in June, according to the preliminary data.
