OREANDA-NEWS. July 19, 2013. The Office of the Federal Antimonopoly Service in Moscow (Moscow OFAS Russia) fined “Ritual” State Unitary Enterprise 300,000 Rubles for abusing dominance on the market of burial services.

At the end of 2012 OFAS found that “Ritual” violated Part 1 Article 10 of the Federal Law “On Protection of Competition” allocating sites for family burials in Moscow cemeteries. “Ritual” fixed different prices for the same goods (family burial sites) without any economic, technological or other justification; and created discriminatory conditions for the persons interested in family burial sites.

“Today “Ritual” has fully eliminated its discriminatory policy; however the company’s unlawful actions cannot remain unpunished. Now the violator will have to pay the fine – 300,000 Rubles”, says Deputy Head of Moscow OFAS Russia, Alexander Dorovsky.
