OREANDA-NEWS. Total gas sales volume by Tokyo Gas Co., Ltd. for the month of June 2013 came to about 1,009.835 million m3, up 2.9% to that in June 2012.

In the residential sector, volume totaled 191.636 million m3, down 8.0% from June 2012, due to higher average temperature compared to that in the same period last year, leading to the decreased demand for water-heating.

In the business sector (consisting of commercial, public, and medical use), volume totaled 185.27 million m3, up 5.1% from June 2012, due to higher average temperature compared to that in the same period last year, leading to the increased demand for air-conditioning.

In the industrial sector, volume totaled 467.565 million m3, up 8.6% from June 2012, due to the development of new demands following the commencement of the new trunk lines and the increased demand for power generation.

Volume for wholesale supply to other gas companies totaled 165.364 million m3, down 0.6% from June 2012.
