OREANDA-NEWS. Transaero Airlines has summed up the results of one year of regular flights to France and Italy. Transaero is pleased to report that it has flown more than 250,000 passengers on the routes from Moscow to Rome, Milan and Venice and from Saint Petersburg to Rome and Milan, a year after the launch of the airline’s scheduled flights. This is a three times increase over the same period of the previous twelve months, when Transaero only operated charter flights to the Apennine Peninsula.

Transaero’s recently released results confirm that its regular flights to the Italian cities have generated high and stable demand amongst passengers. The airline has carried more than 86,000 passengers to Rome and almost 65,000 to Milan from Saint Petersburg and Moscow, while 27,000 have flown with the airline to Venice. In addition to these destinations, Transaero’s flights from Moscow to Rimini became regular last year.

This summer for the convenience of its passengers Transaero performs regular flights to the Italian destinations from both Moscow Vnukovo and Moscow Domodedovo airports.

To meet high passenger demand Transaero operates wide-body Boeing 767-300 aircraft on its flights to Rome from Vnukovo on Saturdays and Sundays and to Venice from Domodedovo on Saturdays. Transaero is the only Russian carrier that performs scheduled flights to Rome and Venice operating wide-body aircraft on a regular basis.

This July Transaero celebrates the first anniversary of regular flights on the Moscow-Paris route. According to preliminary estimates, the airline has carried more than 78,000 passengers on this route for twelve months.

Transaero’s flights arrive at Paris Orly Airport, while passengers have a choice of two departure airports in Moscow - Vnukovo and Domodedovo. Thus, the airline provides a broad selection of direct and connecting flights for its customers.

After being appointed a second designated carrier to Paris from the Russian side, Transaero Airlines signed a code-share agreement with Aigle Azur on joint operation of flights on this route. Transaero adds its designated code to each of Aigle Azur’s flights from Orly to Vnukovo Airport and vice versa .the French carrier adds its marketing code on Transaero’s flights from Moscow to Paris.

Transaero also partners with Corsair airline in France. Thanks to the interline agreement with the French operator passengers can continue their trip from Moscow to domestic and international destinations within the Corsair’s network with connections at Orly Airport.

Transaero has also been flying from Moscow to Lyon since 2007.

The results of Transaero’s first year of regular services to Rome, Milan, Venice and Paris demonstrate that the routes are in high and stable demand amongst passengers.
