Estonian Air Carried 275 258 Passengers in 1H
OREANDA-NEWS. July 17, 2013. From January to June Estonian Air carried altogether 275 258 passengers, out of which 271 887 on regular flights. In June Estonian Air carried 54 297 passengers, out of which 53 842 on regular flights (an increase of 3% compared to the previous month). The load factor was 77.1% in June, which is 7.0 percentage points higher than last month.
According to the restructuring plan Estonian Air is targeting to carry close to 600 thousand passengers this year. We offer less seats to the market and serve less passengers compared to the last two years. As to the number of passengers the first half year result is 4% behind the target, at the same time revenue per passenger is above the target. So, all in all we have met the half year targets and the company is standing on strong and solid feet today,” said Ilona Eskelinen, the Public Relations Manager of Estonian Air.
In the first half of the 2012, Estonian Air carried 423 585 passengers, and in the first half of 2011 the number was 307 858.
In the first six months Estonian Air operated 5 624 flights, out of which 890 flights in June. The regularity of Estonian Air flights was 99.6%, an increase of 0.8 percentage points compared to the same period last year. The 15-minute punctuality was 89.5%, an increase of 6 percentage points compared to the same period last year. In June the regularity and punctuality were 99.9% and 91.0% respectively.
Estonian Air, Estonia’s national carrier, is the biggest operator at Tallinn Airport. The airline flies to Stockholm, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Brussels, Oslo, Moscow, St Petersburg, Kiev, Vilnius and Trondheim. In addition, from June to August, Estonian Air flies between Tallinn and Paris, and from May to September to Nice.
