Pulkovo Airport Basic Performance Indicators for June and Six Months
OREANDA-NEWS. In June 2013 the passenger flow rate at Pulkovo Airport amounted to 1 441 678 people, which represents 17,1% increase against June 2012, including:
The rate of international passenger flow for June 2013 amounted to 856 232 people (+ 18,3%) against the number of passengers carried over the same period in 2012.
The domestic passenger flow rate amounted to 585 446 people (+15,3%).
The number of takeoffs and landings for June 2013 increased by 7,4 % and amounted to 14 062 operations. The volume of the handled maximum takeoff weight was 499 184 tons; the increase as compared to the same period in 2012 came up to 14,6 %.
For the six months of 2013 the passenger flow rate at Pulkovo Airport amounted to 5 643 746 people (+15,2%).
The rate of international passenger flow for the six months of 2013 amounted to 3 112 950 people (+19,4%).
The domestic passenger flow rate amounted to 2 530 796 people (+10,5%).
The number of takeoffs and landings for the six months of 2013 increased by 5,8% and amounted to 62 304 operations. The volume of the handled maximum takeoff weight was 2 147 293 tons; the increase as compared to the same period in 2012 came up to 11 %.
One of the major events of June 2013 was the opening of the Icelandair’s first-ever direct flight linking St. Petersburg and Reykjavik. On June 30, 2013 Iberia Express airline completed its first flight Madrid - St. Petersburg - Madrid. Iberia Express - is the low cost airline, owned by international aviation holding International Airlines Group. Greek airline Aegean Airlines has introduced new destinations for passengers to Alexandroupolis, Kavala and Skiathos.
The basic carrier of the airport airline "Rossiya" is a stable leader in the number of passengers carried from “Pulkovo” in June 2013: it has carried 513 000 passengers. The most popular destinations within Russia were: Moscow, Kaliningrad, Sochi, Murmansk and Arkhangelsk. Among the most popular international destinations were Istanbul, Larnaca, Frankfurt-am-Main, Barcelona and Hurghada.
Airlines “Rossiya”, “Transaero”, “Aeroflot”, “UTair” and "S7 Airlines" has become Russia’s largest carriers. They carried 3.5 million passengers on international and domestic flights in six month period. Among international companies leaders were Lufthansa, Uzbekistan Airlines, Aegean, Air Berlin and Air France. The total number of passengers served by them in June has reached 114,000 people.
143 thousand passengers were served by international charter flights in June 2013. The top 3 popular resorts were Antalya, Hurghada and Larnaca.
At the end of June 2013, the most intensively developing airline based on the dynamics of increasing flight rate from St. Petersburg, was the airline “Rossiya”, which in comparison to June 2012 increased flight rate on 28 flights, “UTair” - increased flight rate to 14 flights, and the “Rosline” airline increased flight rate to 13 flights.
