Ukraine Discusses with ExxonMobil Prospects for Energy Cooperation
OREANDA-NEWS. July 16, 2013. First Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Serhiy Arbuzov has met with representatives of ExxonMobil.
During a meeting it was discussed cooperation in energy sector between Ukraine and ExxonMobil, in particular preparations for the signing of the Production Sharing Agreements (PSA) at the Scythian area (Black Sea shelf).
Ukrainian side underlined that the increase in domestic production of hydrocarbons is one of the priorities of our country.
Serhiy Arbuzov said that Ukraine welcomes the arrival to Ukraine of serious investors willing to create new jobs, and thereby contributes to the development of economy of Ukraine, its investing attractiveness and we ready to give them assistance.
For its part, the representatives of ExxonMobil noted that the company appreciates the potential development of hydrocarbons in the Black Sea and is ready to apply international best practices in its operations in Ukraine.
Recall that in August of 2012 a consortium of companies led by ExxonMobil was chosen the winner for developing deepwater block Scythian. Other members of the consortium are Shell, OMV Petrom and Nadra Ukraine.
