Belarus Reports Br900 bn Budget Surplus in Jan-May 2013
OREANDA-NEWS. Belarus’ Finance Ministry posted a republican budget surplus of 900 billion Belarusian rubles (Br) (USD 102.389 million at the NBB rate) in January-May 2013, or 0.4% of GDP, an official with the Finance Ministry told.
The republican budget indicates spending and revenues of the central administration, whereas the consolidated budget also includes local budgets.
Republican budget revenues amounted to 41.3 trillion rubles (USD 4.699 billion) in January-May 2013, or 33.9% of the target for the whole year.
Republican budget expenditures reached 40.4 trillion rubles (USD 4.596 billion), 33% of the target for 2013.
Revenues from the value-added tax amounted to 24.7 trillion rubles (USD 2.81 billion, 36.7% of the year target), from income tax - Br10.8 trillion (USD 1.229 million, 37.1%), excises - Br5.8 trillion (USD 659.841 million, 27.3%), from foreign economic activities 10.1 trillion rubles (USD 1.149 billion), 33.7% of the target.
Revenues of the Labour and Welfare Ministry’s social security fund (SSF) are estimated at Br30 trillion (USD 3.413 billion, 42.9%).
Tax arrears totalled Br211.7 billion (USD 24.1 million), up by 16.8% (Br30.5 billion - USD 3.47 million) over May 2013.
Revenues of the state administration budget (republican budget, local budgets and SSF) totalled Br105.1 trillion in Jan-May 2013 (USD 11.957 billion), 38.8% of the adjusted annual plan; expenditures - Br100.3 trillion (USD 11.411 billion, 37.1%). The surplus of the state administration budget totalled Br4.8 trillion (USD 546.075 million), 2.2% of the GDP.
