Largest Containership Visits Vostochny Seaport
OREANDA-NEWS. July 15, 2013. Maersk Mc-Kinney Moller, the first Triple-E containership and the largest ship in the world, which was built at a South Korean shipyard, made a port call to Vostochny Seaport, in order to perform bunkering and cargo handling.
The ship was been successfully guided through the Nakhodka Bay by operators of the Nakhodka Bay VTS of the FSUE "Rosmorport" Far-Eastern Branch. Under supervision of the Nakhodka Bay VTS the pilots of the Vostochny Branch conducted a professional pilotage of the ship to the container terminal.
It is necessary to note that there are at most 15 seaports capable to receive the new Triple-E vessels. The containership represents the first vessel in the line of 20 Triple-E ships, which are going to be constructed.
Having completed bunkering operations the ship will go to the seaport of Pusan (South Korea) in order to take full container cargo and transport it through the line AE10 going from Asia to Northern Europe, which is supposed to be its permanent working route.
