Domodedovo and British Airways Continue Cooperation
OREANDA-NEWS. Ten years ago on 1 July 2013 cooperation between Moscow Domodedovo Airport and airline British Airways started. In 2003 regular services of one of the largest international air carriers connected Domodedovo and Heathrow airports. During the passed decade over 2.4 million passengers were served on the route London-Moscow-London, British Airways airliners performed over 9200 take-off and landing operations.
Today British Airways operates three daily flights to London from Moscow Domodedovo Airport: modern comfortable airliners Boeing 767 and Boeing 747 operate morning, daytime and evening flights - tourists and businessmen can choose convenient time. British Airways is the only air carrier, which offers first class service on this direction.
Numerous convenient services, including additional, are available for British Airways passengers. The airline has its own business lounge and check-in zone. Common Use Self Service (CUSS) kiosks are also popular among passengers - it takes less than a minute to choose seat and to print boarding card. British Airways was the first airline which implemented Common Use Self Service in Russia - practically right after it launched flights from Domodedovo. Online Boarding Pass technology was deployed for the first time in Russian airport also thanks to British Airways - passengers received opportunity to arrive to Domodedovo with completed on the air carrier's internet site and printed boarding card. Today there is a full range of modern decisions at British Airways passengers disposal, including mobile phone applications.
Domodedovo Airport Director Igor Borisov commented: “Decade of cooperation is a significant step. Years of partnership between one of the world leading air carriers and the largest airport in Eastern Europe influenced the whole Russian aviation market. Intensive experience exchange, new technologies and services implementation, movement forward demands of the most sophisticated passengers, - all this leads to steady traffic growth of British Airways through Domodedovo”.
British Airways Regional Customer Service Manager Stuart Nicholson comments: “10 years ago we made an important decision of operating our flights from the Domodedovo airport. We knew that this way we would offer our customers the best service possible and maximum levels of comfort.
