GAZ Group Launched Ural Manufacturing Plant in Kazakhstan
OREANDA-NEWS. July 11, 2013. GAZ Group, part of Basic Element, one of Russia’s largest diversified industrial groups, and Kazakh automotive manufacturer SemAZ launched Ural contract manufacturing plant in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The assembly plant in Kazakhstan is the first production site of Ural plant in CIS. Ruslan Zhaksylykov, Commander-in-Chief for Internal Troops of the Interior Ministry of the Republic of Kazakhstan, took part in the opening ceremony of the assembly plant in the city of Semey (formerly - Semipalatinsk).
The assembly plant is designed for production of approximately four hundred vehicles per year using machine kits delivered from Ural plant of GAZ Group.At its initial stage the project contemplates assembly of 6x6 drop-sided "Ural-4320-0111-41" vehicles, as well as "Ural-4320-1912-41" chassis. In future the product line of assembled vehicles will be widened, e.g. specialty vehicles (dump trucks, gas-tank trucks, passenger trucks, etc.) are proposed for manufacturing based on Ural chassis. Ural vehicles manufactured in cooperation with SemAZ are particularly designed for sales to law-enforcement authorities of Kazakhstan and supply to the market of the Republic.
The assembly plant employs highly qualified personnel that had required training at specialized educational institutions and apprenticeship at Ural plant. Assembly specialists thoroughly mastered vehicle assembly process, reviewed design documentation, standardized maintenance and QC posts were organized at the assembly line.
