OREANDA-NEWS. The third season of Let's Save Energy Together, a joint project of SCM and Segodnya newspaper, started on 25 June. The initiative is implemented in a contest format and designed for Segodnya readers who are ready to share ideas and practices in energy saving at home.

The goal of the popular project is to improve the awareness of Ukrainians in using energy resources sustainably. From 25 June to 10 September 2013 Segodnya readers can send in their own ideas helping them to reduce the amount of consumed energy at home, or find alternative sources of energy that can be used by households.

From 16 July to 24 September 2013 the edition will be publishing the best stories every second Tuesday in Tvoye section.

On 11 September 2013, the jury will announce three authors of the best ideas and award them with certificates for energy-saving equipment. The authors of the stories published in the newspaper but not included in the top 3 will receive special rewards.

“The prudent use of energy across Ukraine (at least in line with European standards) can help the country save up to UAH 13.8bn a year. This figure is calculated in our Ukrainian Energy Index. To unleash the huge potential, everyone should first start changing their approaches and habits. Our joint project with Segodnya, Let's Save Energy Together, aims to achieve this very goal - to change the attitude of Ukrainians. It explains how to use energy resources thriftily without losing anything at all,” commented Natalya Yemchenko, SCM's Director of Public Relations and Communications.

“Let's Save Energy Together seeks to combine efforts of Ukrainian businesses and people to encourage public interest to energy-saving technologies,” said Igor Dobrovan, Segodnya Multimedia CEO. “This is our third energy-saving project implemented jointly with SCM management company. We are happy to see an increasing interest and readiness of our readers to share their experience. It means the energy-saving idea strikes a chord with the broad public.”
