LNPP-2 Energy Block №1 Reactor Pit Supporting Truss Installed
OREANDA-NEWS. OJSC “MSU-90” specialists install Leningrad NPP-2 energy block №1 reactor pit supporting truss into target place
A Liebherr 11350 crane with the maximum lifting capacity of 1350 tons was used to perform the installation of the supporting truss. The works have been carried out by the specialists of the leading installation company of the holding “TITAN-2”, OAO “Montazhno-stroitelnoe upravlenie-90”, working on the job site №1.
The installation of reactor pit supporting truss into the target place on the job site of Leningrad NPP-2 has been successfully completed. The construction detail weighing 87.5 tons is installed at the +9.79 mark.
The works were carried out with the use of the most powerful lifting mechanism on the site, the crane Liebherr 11350. Such works are considered complex, as axial and altitude displacements can't be above 1.5 and 2 mm accordingly.
The supporting truss consists of a basement, section and corpus. When assembled, it's an over 10-meter diameter, 3.8-meter high welded metal construction weighing 143 tons. The completion of the works on the reactor pit supporting truss installation is planned for the end of July 2013.
The supporting truss is put inside the reactor pit. It's intended to hold reliably the reactor corpus, and to take over weight and seismic loads it undertakes. It's a third-class safety supporting truss, which allows preventing the development of failures and personnel errors in the case of beyond-project accidents, as well as keeping radiation products inside the localization system.
The completion of the supporting truss will give a start to reactor pit construction works above the mark of +11.30, which, in its turn, will allow finishing the installation of energy block №1 reactor corpus by the end of 2013.
