Vale Reinforces Importance of Mining for Development during Global For
OREANDA-NEWS. Vale representatives participated as speakers at the International Finance Corporation (IFC) Sustainability Summit, which is part of the World Bank Group. With over 180 countries participating, the IFC is the largest global development institution focused on the private sector in developing countries.
The event took place between June 18 and 21, and it consisted of two stages. The first stage included a forum with world leaders, during which natural resource developing trends were discussed as well as the economic growth of emerging countries. In the second stage, speakers shared good results they experienced when incorporating sustainability into their businesses.
Vale also participated in the 3rd edition of the Natural Resource Charter (NRC) Annual Conference, which took place in Kuwait, in May. The NRC advises governments and the private sector on creating long-term sustainable development for society.
Both unprecedented invitations show the consolidation of the relationship between our company and global institutions, with local impact, and the importance of our contribution to their debates.
