OREANDA-NEWS. July 10, 2013. It is planned to hold a meeting of the Ukraine-US Council in October 2013, where will be discussed issues that concern both Ukrainian and American sides. This was started by the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Igor Prasolov during a meeting with Morgan Williams, the head of Ukraine-US Business Council.

"There are issues raised by US companies that are very concern us. As part of the Ukraine-US Council on Trade and Investment was established expert group on trade as the actuator of the Council. The first meeting of the expert group was held on February 5 this year. We are interested that as a board, as expert group continue to work. Head of the Ukrainian part of the Council is Ukrainian First vice Prime Minister Serhii Arbuzov. Date of next meeting will be consistent. We focus around October 2013," Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine said.

One of the main issues of Ukrainian-American dialogue is the protection of intellectual property. "We are working in this area very seriously. Making steps to reach normal civilized situation. There is a draft law "On Amendments to certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine to resolve the issues of copyright and related rights." We hope soon to approve it," Igor Prasolov said.

According to the Minister, now it is being finalized and prepared for signing contracts on the legalization of software not only with Microsoft, but also on software products of other companies, it also will be increase staff of inspectors for intellectual property.

Also during the meeting Igor Prasolov and Morgan Williams discussed some issues concerning revision of tariffs under the WTO, anti-dumping measures against Ukrainian chemical products, the situation in the aviation sector.
