OREANDA-NEWS. Sberbank CIB, the corporate and investment banking unit of Sberbank of Russia, is pleased to announce the appointment of Damian Bunce as Head of Direct Market Access (DMA), Managing Director. Damian will be based in Moscow and will report to Timur Nasardinov, Head of Equity Division, Managing Director. This hire forms part of Sberbank CIB’s continued focus on strengthening its leading Global Markets capabilities and expanding its international franchise.

Damian brings over twenty years of experience in the global markets across Moscow, London, New York and Tokyo. He arrives from Renaissance Capital, where he was Managing Director and CEO, Global Head of the Electronic Trading Group. Prior to joining Renaissance Capital, Damian was Managing Director and Head of Electronic Trading EMEA, at Barclays Capital in London. He also spent nine years at Goldman Sachs as Executive Director, Head of Electronic Trading Sales EMEA, working in New York, London and Tokyo.

This appointment is the latest in a number of senior hires at Sberbank CIB during 2013, with a particular focus on the Global Markets division. In June, Francois Mantion was appointed Head of Commodity Trading, Managing Director, and Raymond Bird as Head of Strategic Equity Financing, GM Trading Managing Director. Since the beginning of the year the Global Markets team has also added Nikolai Medvedev as Senior Equity Sales, Managing Director, Albert Sagiryan as Head of FICC Structured Products Sales, Managing Director, Peter Urbanczyk as Head of FICC Sales, Americas, Managing Director, Steven Weller as Head of FX Trading, Managing Director, Bill Beller as Head of Options Trading Desk, Managing Director.
