Ukraine Has Intention to Join OECD
OREANDA-NEWS. July 08, 2013. Ukraine has an intention to join Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov announced during his meeting with President of the Council of States of Federal Assembly of Switzerland Filippo Lombardi.
“We count on support of Switzerland in this issue,” Mykola Azarov emphasized.
Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) is an international organization which comprises 34 most economically developed countries – the majority of states of the European Union, the USA, Australia, Korea, Japan and others.
The headquarters is situated in Paris, France. The agreement on OECD was signed on December 14, 1960 in Paris and came in effect on September, 1961. The document was concluded targeting coordination of economic policy of the OECD member countries and rendering assistance to the countries that are developing. The OECD also actively cooperates with the countries which are not members of the organization, in the frames of specialized programs, international events etc.
