OREANDA-NEWS. July 08, 2013. Lapland Natural Biospheric Reserve with assistance of Kola MMC (Norilsk Nickel’s subsidiary) has launched a project for the construction of a visit center at Chunozerskaya estate. The Company financed the development of the design and estimate documentation.

The new visitor center will be two-storeyed. The central part will be given to a large exposition depicting wild nature. The centre will also include a conference room for 90 people designed for lectures and academic conferences, including international ones.

The construction of the visit center will be financed within the framework of the federal investment program for the development of tourist travel to natural reserves and sanctuaries. The cost of the project shall exceed RUB 60 mln, its implementation is scheduled for 2014.

Moreover, the company has allocated funds for the purchase of five snowmobiles, which are considered indispensable in off-road conditions.
