OREANDA-NEWS. July 04, 2013. Mikhail Fridman, Chairman of the Alfa Group Consortium Supervisory Board and member of the Alfa Bank Board of Directors, has won the Businessman of the Year Award 2013. The award was presented on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

The newspaper Kommersant traditionally bestows the award for contribution to the development of Russian business on the days of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum; the winner is chosen by the editorial board and guests of the ceremony. Award laureates receive a personal copy of the Kommersant doorknob depicting a hand stretched out for a handshake and a Kommersant issue dedicated solely to them. Newspaper editor in chief Mikhail Mikhailin presented the award.

Mikhail Fridman greeted guests of the ceremony in a video address and thanked the newspaper for its mission. Oleg Sysuyev, First Deputy Chairman of the Alfa Bank Board of Directors, received the award on behalf of Mikhail Fridman.

Other winners of the 2013 Businessman of the Year Award are Alexey Kudrin in the Hard Sign Man category, Kaluga Region Governor Anatoly Artamonov in the For Financial Attractiveness category, Elvira Nabiullina in the Woman in Charge category and Igor Sechin in the Open Line category.
