OREANDA-NEWS. July 03, 2013. Already 16 regions of Ukraine have commenced the harvest campaign. The agrarians are gathering early grain crops and grain legumes, in particular winter barley and winter wheat, and also spring barley and peas.

Thus far, the agricultural producers have threshed almost 6 million tons of grain crops. Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food M.Prysyazhniuk informed.

So, the agrarians have already threshed 3.4 mln tons of winter wheat, 2.2 mln tons of winter barley, 186 thousand tons of spring barley and 71 thousand tons of peas. Apart from that, harvesting of winter rapeseed is underway with 311 thousand tons threshed.

Moreover, Mykola Prysyazhniuk emphasized that in all the regions the measures in crop tending were being held.

“The agrarian are provided 100% with means of plant protection. So, they are applied actively to protect agricultural crops from tall grass, plant diseases and grain pests,” the Minister summed up.
