OREANDA-NEWS. July 02, 2013. Tele2, an alternative mobile operator, has reported acquisition of Kodotel operator in Voronezh.

Tele2 closed the deal on Kodotel acquisition. Tele2 Russia has not disclosed financial parameters of the transaction. The deal was approved by all relevant regulating bodies.
 
Kodotel is a regional mobile operator providing services in Voronezh and Voronezh Region. The regional operator has a developed infrastructure, keeps licenses to provide GSM 1800 services and has a 15 MHz band. The Kodotel subscriber base totals 100 000 subscribers.

Thanks to the acquisition, Tele2 will increase its subscriber base in Voronezh and cement its leadership in the region.

Besides, Tele2 Russia will double its frequency range in the region, which will create an opportunity for improving the quality of services provided and cut investment in expanding the company’s network capacity. Tele2 backhaul network in Voronezh and the region will be supplemented by Kodotel optic fiber, which will increase the network’s throughput capacity and its reliability.

By the end of 2013, Tele2 will consequently implement a plan of Kodotel legal and technical integration into its structure. During the integration period, Kodotel will not alter terms of service for its subscribers. Between November-December 2013 Tele2 will accommodate subscriber base, offer profitable conditions to its clients and a wide range of Tele2 services with the subscriber’s number staying unchanged.
