OREANDA-NEWS. July 01, 2013. Alexey Mordashov, CEO of Severstal, one of the world's leading steel and steel-related mining companies, has been elected President of Russian Steel, the not-for-profit partnership that unites Russia’s major iron and steel producers. Mr. Mordashov was elected at the partnership’s Annual General Meeting held yesterday in Moscow.

It was also approved at the meeting that Russian Steel will host the Worldsteel Association’s 2014 Annual Conference in Russia. Alexey Mordashov was elected Chairman of the Board of Directors of Worldsteel in October 2012.

Also at the AGM, the partnership’s members voted to approve Alexei Yegorov’s admission to the Management Committee of Russian Steel. Alexei is Deputy General Director for Communications and Government Relations at Severstal.
