CU States to Prepare White Paper on Exemptions by September
OREANDA-NEWS. Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan will team to prepare the White Paper on exemptions in mutual trade by September 1, 2013, Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission Viktor Khristenko said in a speech at a business forum of the Single Economic Space (SES).
By January 1, 2015 Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan plan to create the Single Economic Space. To speed up the process, according to Khristenko, the parties should remove barriers, restrictions and exemptions from the free trade principle. The major exemptions and restrictions are applied to medicines, alcoholic beverages and tobacco, Khristenko informed.
In the middle of 2014 there will become effective a portfolio of agreements on good-faith trade on cross-boundary markets, Khristenko informed. There will be a special department within the Eurasian Economic Commission to deal with investigations and arbitration regarding bad-faith trade practices on the common market.
