This includes an initial donation of USD 250,000 to the Red Cross to assist in immediate relief work in impacted communities, as well as USD 250,000 to be allocated to a number of Encana's partners which are actively engaged in the effort in both the Calgary area and elsewhere in southern Alberta. In addition, employee donations to registered charities will be matched by Encana up to USD 25,000 per employee as part of our matching gifts program.

"The recent floods have had devastating and widespread impact throughout southern Alberta and Encana is committed to assisting with the inspiring relief efforts that are already underway to help those most affected," said Bill Oliver, Executive Vice-President & Chief Corporate Officer.

"The hard work being done by relief agencies and emergency services personnel, as well as the many volunteer citizens who have pitched in to help their neighbours, truly reflects the strong sense of community in Calgary and throughout southern Alberta."

Encana is also committed to working with the city officials and our industry associations to coordinate a collective industry volunteer response to aid those communities impacted by flooding.

"The floods have left significant damage in many communities where Encana employees live and work, including in Calgary where we have our corporate headquarters. It has also been felt, or could potentially be felt, in some of our operating communities, such as Drumheller where officials are currently anticipating significant impact. We encourage all of our staff to stay safe and our thoughts are with everyone in Alberta who have been affected by this extraordinary event," added Oliver.

With the City of Calgary and much of southern Alberta remaining in a state of emergency, Encana has been in regular communication with staff through updates via email and social media. The company is working to ensure business-critical functions will proceed normally while mandatory evacuations are in place, including the current evacuation for downtown Calgary. Encana encourages all of our staff to follow the instructions of frontline emergency responders and government officials in terms of evacuation, alternate shelter and infrastructure closures.
