OREANDA-NEWS. On 18 June United Kingdom-based consultancy Skytrax announced winners of World Airline Awards 2013 at the anniversary 50-th Paris Air Show.

Top places in rating and in its certain categories are considered by global aviation society as the most prestigious and significant.

18 million passengers out 160 countries during 10 months were estimating service quality of over 200 air carriers by 40 criteria. According to the results of polls, the winners of Skytrax World Airline Awards 2013 are: Emirates (1st place), Qatar Airways (2nd place) and Singapore Airlines (3rd place), - all are the partners of Moscow Domodedovo Airport.

Russian largest airlines, operating flights from Domodedovo, - Transaero and S7 Airlines - are in the top three of category "Best airlines in Eastern Europe".

Herewith the airlines significantly improved their positions in Skytrax rating.

Among the winners in different nominations are many Domodedovo's partners. Here are only some airlines, taking top places in specific categories:

Cathay Pacific - category "Best transpacific airlines" and "Best cabin staff" (6th place in rating);

Emirates - category "Best inflight entertainment " (1st place in rating);

Etihad Airways - category "Best first class", "First class catering" è "Best first class seats" (7th place in rating);

Qatar Airways - category "Best business class" (2nd place in rating);

Lufthansa - category "Best transatlantic airlines" (11th place in rating).

Global aviation alliances were awarded as well - oneworld, having chosen Domodedovo as a base airport in Russia, became the winner of the rating.

Moscow Domodedovo Airport Director Igor Borisov comments: "We are congratulating our partners, who regularly take top positions in the prestigious global chart. This is a win for us too, because such results prove Domodedovo to be one of the global aviation leaders. Our domestic partners are steadily moving up in the rating. Moscow Domodedovo Airport also took a prestigious place in World Airport Awards 2013. This is the fourth time when Domodedovo was recognized as the best airport in Eastern Europe. Air travelers mentioned above all a good vehicle access of Domodedovo, comfortable passenger terminal, friendly and language qualified staff.

Domodedovo Airport attracts airlines by its high quality aerodrome infrastructure, good passenger flow organization and convenient route network. Domodedovo runways and airdrome equipment let the airport serve all types of aircrafts.
