Ukraine to Liberalize Air Market with Israel & Italy
OREANDA-NEWS. June 25, 2013. The Infrastructure Ministry of Ukraine conducts an activity in improvement of effective use of air routes and deregulation of air market. Infrastructure Minister of Ukraine Voldymyr Kozak has said during An Hour of Questions to the Government at the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
According to him, with an aim to improve the work of the whole air transportation market the Ministry introduced a mechanism of attracting low-cost companies and systems of encouraging air conveyors, also there was approved an order of appointment of air conveyors to use air lines by the specially created Commission.
In March and May of 2013 there were held two sittings of the Commission and the rights for exploitation were given for 97 air routes, which makes up around 90% of applications of air conveyors,” the Minister informed.
Volodymyr Kozak told that the work is being held to liberalize aviation conveyance. “The process of negotiations concerning concluding with the EU an Agreement on the Common Aviation Space is on its final stage. Thus far, the air transportation market was completely liberalized with Russia, Spain, UAE and Georgia. Within nearest time it is planned to liberalize the market of air conveyance with Israel and Italy,” the Minister explained. He added that the work is held concerning transition of Ukraine to the first category of the US Federal Aviation Administration, which will afford to open direct flights to this country.
Volodymyr Kozak noted that opportunities of opening of new flights and drawing of new conveyors will be revealed after holding on July 21-23 2013 in Donetsk of the Forum concerning the development of air routes in airports of CIS states, during which Ukrainian airports will be able to hold negotiations with a series of air companies.
