OREANDA-NEWS. POWERGRID has extended a financial assistance of Rs. 2.5 Crores towards Prime Minister's Relief Fund for mitigating the sufferings of the flood victims of Uttarakhand. POWERGRID employees have also risen to the cause and will contribute their one day salary to the Prime minister's Relief Fund, in the wake of the natural calamities that hit the state of Uttarakhand recently.

The enormous deluge has had a devastating effect on the life of the common man in the state causing widespread loss of life and property displacing hundreds of people. Many kilometres of roads have been washed away along with many bridle roads, bridges residential buildings etc.

POWERGRID as a responsible corporate citizen, has always been in the forefront to extend multifarious assistance towards such kind of natural calamities, like: Tsunami, Earthquake in Kutch & Leh Laddakh faced by the country in the past.
