“Today, any investment project must have environmental component that would not only modernize production, but also solve environmental problems,” the President said at the meeting of the Council of Regions in Luhansk.

He stressed that the morbidity in industrial regions is a problem that requires immediate solution. “We pay significant attention to environmental issues,” the President noted.

Viktor Yanukovych called Alchevsk Metallurgical Plant a good example of successful modernization. “Respective work at the plant started about 10 years ago. Now, it has a significant influence on the environment of the city. People who lived here in the past know that it was hard to breathe in the city,” the President said.
