OREANDA-NEWS. June 21, 2013. According to the National Bureau of Statistics, as compared with April, 2012, it grew 23.5% in April, 2013. In January-April, 2013, output soared 39.9% in the mining industry and grew 8.6% in the processing one. In the reporting period it was produced 1.6% more foodstuffs and beverages than in the same period in 2012.

For example, distilled alcohol production rocketed 40.2%, flour-grinding industry showed the 30.7% increase and wine production grew 16.3%. Production of processed and canned fruit and vegetables grew 14.9%, meat and canned meat production increased 12.7%. Production of cacao, chocolate and sugar confectionary increased 11%l dairy production grew 8,7%; output of bread and pastry increased 5.8%; production of canned fish and fish products climber 1.7%. In this period production of vegetable oils and fats decreased 88.8%, production of mineral water and refreshers declined 11.1%, NBS reports.

Production of non-metal mineral products (glass, items of concrete, gypsum and cement, etc), ballooned 85.8%, chemical output soared 59.6%. Production of electric machines and equipment increased 44.1%, the metallurgic industry displayed the 42.8% growth. A growth in production made up 7.9% in the tobacco industry, 5.5% in the furniture industry; 2.4% in the engineering industry, 2.3% in the paper and cardboard producing industry and 1.8% in robber and plastic industry. At the same time, in the reporting period it was produced 57.4% less medical devices and precious optical instruments, 25.3% less means of communications and radio and TV devices, and 17.4% less leather items and footwear.

Timber and woodwork production decreased 17.2%, production of garments and fur manufacture decreased 7.8%. Production in the publishing industry decreased 4.1%. Production of finished metal work, excepting machines and equipment, decreased 2.9%; the light industry reported the 1.8% decline.

The energy sector (generation and distribution of electricity and heat) saw the decline by 4.1% in this period. Heat and hot water supply decreased 5.5%, generation and distribution of power shrank 3.4%, NBS reports.
