OREANDA-NEWS. June 21, 2013. Penza Regional Arbitration Court pronounced legitimacy of the decision of the Office of the Federal Antimonopoly Service in the Penza Region (Penza OFAS Russia) with regard to “Penza Electro-Technical Company” Ltd.

In July 2012, Penza OFAS Russia fined “Penza Electro-Technical Company” Ltd. nearly two million Rubles for abusing its dominance position on the market (in breach of Article 10 of the Federal Law “On Protection of Competition”).

The company failed to execute its determination for technological connection to electric networks of a physical person – a consumer of energy resources.

The company disagreed with the decision of the antimonopoly body and filed a lawsuit. However, Penza Regional Arbitration Court upheld the decision of the antimonopoly body.

“Abusing dominance is one of the most socially dangerous violations in the field of entrepreneurial activity, since it threatens social relations protected by the state in the field of protecting competition and the interests of service consumers. The company severely violated the rights of a physical persons for receiving electric power”, commented Acting Head of Penza OFAS Russia, Tatiana Butuzova.
