OREANDA-NEWS. June 21, 2013. Repsol has been presented with the ASTER award for Business Career, awarded every year by the renowned ESIC Business & Marketing School. The prize recognises the achievements made by companies over the course of their history and their contribution to the Spanish economy.

Repsol Chairman Antonio Brufau accepted the award from Manuel Guerrero, Chairman of the Board of Banco Espiritu Santo. Brufau welcomed the recognition, the third of its kind for the company after that received in 1985 by Campsa and 1993 by Repsol.

Antonio Beteta, Spain’s Secretary of State for Public Administration chaired the jury that awarded the prize. The jury was made up of a number of top names in the business and academic world, such as the Chairman of the IFEMA Governing Board, Jose Maria Alvarez del Manzano; Chairman of the ESIC Advisory Board, Miguel Fernandez de Pinedo; Chairman of Unesa, Eduardo Montes; Chairman of Realia Business, Ignacio Bayon; Chairman of Derprosa, Jose Manuel Muriel; and Chairman of Navantia, Jose Manuel Revuelta.

The ceremony took place at the Madrid Municipal Conference Centre coinciding with the graduation of the ESIC class of 2012. The ASTER awards, which are presented every year in recognition of the professional merits of both individuals and companies, strengthen the link between academic teaching and the business world.
