OREANDA-NEWS. June 20, 2013. The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) initiated several antimonopoly cases against elevators that store and ship grain of the State Intervention Fund. The cases were opened upon a petition from the head of a peasant (farm) holding, Aramais Bozoyan.

Having verified information disclosed in the petition, FAS Department for Control over Chemical Industry and Agro-Industrial Complex initiated a case against “Agroservice Region” Ltd. (Ivanovka village, Kalachinsky District, the Omsk Region) upon signs of fixing monopolistically high price on the market of services for shipments of grain from the State Intervention Fund, economically / technologically unreasonable fixing different tariffs for shipments of grain from the State Intervention Fund and creating discriminatory conditions.

FAS also initiated a case against “Sibirsky Kolos” Ltd. (Omsk) upon signs of fixing monopolistically high price on the market of shipping grain from the State Intervention Fund, and against “Russko-Polyansky Elevator” OJSC (Russkaya Polyana industrial community, the Omsk Region), also suspected in economically / technologically unreasonable termination of services for shipments of grain from the State Intervention Fund.

Hearings are scheduled on 20.08.2013, 4 p.m. (“Agroservice Region” Ltd.), 21.08.2013, 4 p.m. (“Sibirsky Kolos” Ltd.) and 20.08.2013, 11 a.m. (“Russko-Polyansky Elevator” OJSC).

“Goods interventions take place, first of all, to decrease prices on the domestic market, and actions of the elevators towards fixing excessive prices for shipping grain nullify efforts of the state to support stable prices on the grain market”, commented the Head of FAS Department for Control over Chemical Industry and Agro-Industrial Complex, Anna Mirochinenko. “Currently FAS is considering several more complaints from other regions about similar actions of elevators. In the future, we also intend to exercise tough control over this market”.
