Usarium Won Third Investors Day at Startup Academy
OREANDA-NEWS. Moscow, June 19, 2013. - On June 18 the third Investors Day took place on the Moscow School of Management SKOLKOVO Campus, where the Startup Academy students presented their projects to the board of investors and venture funds' representatives. In the course of the event more than 15 startups in different spheres - petrochemistry, consulting, ecology, crowd-sourcing, online education, social networks, etc - have been presented.
Oleg Manchulyantsev's project Usarium was named the winner; this project is an online service of peer-to-peer consumer rental that enables people to get things for temporary use under convenient for both parties conditions. The second place was given to Dmitry Kirsanov and his project Bunch - an execellent solution for search of lost things. Two other projects shared the third place: Konstantin Safronov's TOPmission.ru - crowd-sourcing solutions for marketing activities - and Dmitry Satleykin's Smola - a new technology of gums production.
The jury consisted of experienced and successful investors: Vitaly Polekhin, Head of the SKOLKOVO business school Investors Club, Natalia Rodionova, Senior manager at PwC Center for Technology and Innovation, Lubov Simonova, Pre-partner at Almaz Capital Partners, Sergei Karpov, Partner at AddVenture, Dmitry Bergelson, Vice-President at Nanoprom, Evgeny Rudakov, Partner at Svarog Capital Advisors, Dmitry Shlogin, CEO at Renovation etc.
Investors Day is an unusual kind of final examinations at Startup Academy. Each project's representatives have three minutes for a pitch and after that they have to answer the experts' questions. The investors, in their turn, select projects that seem the most promising for potential investments and future development.
