OREANDA-NEWS. Development zones have become the driving force of the economy of Anhui, according to the survey conducted by Anhui Provincial Development and Reform Commission (APDRC).

The statistics released by APDRC showed that there are 175 development zones across Anhui, including 16 national ones, 74 provincial ones, 62 provincial ones in preparation and 23 new-type industrial parks.

The development zones across the province realized sales of 2326.5 billion CNY in 2012. The contribution of development zones to economic growth increased to 60% from 40% in the 11th Five-Year Plan.

The fiscal revenue of development zones shared 32.8% of the whole province in 2012 and the industrial added value of development zones accounted for 57.9% in 2012. The contribution of development zones to industrial growth rose to 89% from 51% in the 11th Five-Year Plan.

It is learned that the development zones utilized foreign capital of 535.23 billion CNY. A batch of World Top 500 Enterprises such as Siemens, Caterpillar, Unilever and Sanyo poured investment in the development zones.
