OREANDA-NEWS. June 17, 2013. Hao Peng, Governor of Qinghai Provincial Government, conducted an inspection visit to the jobsite of Salt-lake Magnesium Metal Project contracted by the Metallurgical Engineering Technology Company of the 17th China Metallurgical Construction Group (17MCC Group).

The Secretary-General of Qinghai Provincial Government, Secretary of CPC Haixi Prefecture Committee, and Commander-in-chief Xie Kangming of the Magnesium Metal Project accompanied Hao during the visit.

The Governor was debriefed on the project execution progress, and inspected the electrolysis shop, where there the lifting and installation work were being undertaken. The officials placed a high premium on the perfect performance of in terms of construction quality, safety and progress. They spoke highly of the efficient, precise, meticulous and practical working style of 17MCC Group, and encourage all the participating contractors to continue their efforts in providing quality services to the development of the west regions.

Located in Golmud City of Qinghai Province on Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, this project is a major works of circular economy basing upon the rich magnesium resources in this area. With a core of resources development, this project will focus on the exploitation of the resources such as magnesium and lithium in the salt lake and the relevant series of products.

Under this project, the development of supportive chemical engineering industry group and chains will be accelerated; the integrated development of salt-lake related chemical industry, the oil and natural gas chemical industry, the coal chemical industry, the non-ferrous metallurgical engineering and the emerging industry will be promoted; and the chemical engineering industry will develop towards the orientation of integration, large-scale, intensification and elaboration.

The Project Division of 17MCC Group has conquered the various negative factors such as tough natural environment and shortage of supplies. Through appropriate labor arrangement and meticulous organization for construction, now the project is progressing smoothly.
