OREANDA-NEWS. June 17, 2013. An official delegation of Ivory Coast conducted an inspection visit to the jobsite of 130 Highway Project contracted by the Road & Bridge Engineering Technology Company of the 17th China Metallurgical Construction Group (17MCC Group).

The delegation consisted of the Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure and the other relevant officials of Ivory Coast.

The officials inspected the completed part of the bituminous pavement along the 130 Highway. They placed a high premium on the implementation progress and quality, and conveyed the best wishes to the participants of the construction work. The Minister was debriefed on the project execution situation and the implementation plan for the next period, and requested the local government to provide essential support and assistance for resolving of the actual problems encountered during the project construction.

The Minister pointed out that, Ivory Coast was witnessing a stable social environment but a vast destruction after the war, and the government had formulated a grand rebuilding program. He expected the all the employees of the Project Division to make continuous efforts for completion of the project and make more contribution to the rebuilding of this country.

The 130 Highway starts from Boundiali in the north of Ivory Coast, passes through 14 major cities/towns (such as Kouto and Tengrela) and eventually ends at the border between Ivory Coast and Mali, with a total length of 130 km. This project was commenced on September 1, 2011, and is anticipated to be completed in September of 2013, with a construction period of 24 months.
