OREANDA-NEWS. June 11, 2013. Kola MMC (MMC Norilsk Nickel affiliate) continues receiving equipment supplied for the Cobalt Production project.

The highest grade cobalt production process chain will employ existing equipment supplemented by the brand new shipments. A number of major contracts were signed for that purpose with domestic as well as international manufacturers such as ERG, Malcolm Barnett & Associates Ltd, and Roskomstroy. Part of the orders has arrived in Monchegorsk, including evaporator system; flash evaporator – electrolyte cooling solution by means of vacuum evaporation; equipment for collection and compression of chlorine, anolyte decontamination and chlorine safety. Furthermore, the first shipment of extractors designed to clean impurities from the cobalt electrolyte has arrived on site.

In 2012 approximately 230 million rubles was allocated to equipment procurement. In 2013 350 million rubles will be allocated to equipment and materials procurement under the project.
