OREANDA-NEWS. June 10, 2013. According to the expert forecasts, Ukrainian market of LED lighting production will grow in the nearest five years 1.5fold at least, year-on-year.

The predicted amount of consumption market can make up UAH 1.5 bln on the domestic market of Ukraine. “For 5-7 years, owing to the import replacement LED lighting production has to increase 100 times and make up 70% of the market need in Ukraine,” a Vice Prime Minister O.Vilkul has said. He stressed that this would facilitate to the development of highly-technological facilities, creating of workplaces, development of national science and reducing of power energy consumption.

The Government renders support to creating in Ukraine of import replacement productive facilities, first of all it concerns energy saving. “Owing to this fact, notably for the last two years in Ukraine production of energy-saving LED lighting have boosted threefold,” Olexandr Vilkul explained.

“Around one fourth of power energy goes to illumination in Ukraine. Energy-saving technologies reduce its consumption. It is significant for Ukrainian settlements in which payment for illumination of streets are carried out from budget of the town. Accordingly, saved from power energy funds will be spent for further modernization of towns,” he added.

Creation of national production of LED clusters (Kharkiv, LED technologies of Ukraine enterprise) will cheapen the process of LED lighting production. In this case, with having European quality (Ukrainian LED lighting was certified pursuant to the European standards) the cost of Ukrainian products will become by 20-30% lower than European.

“Ukrainian enterprises are transferring actively to use of energy-saving illumination. It is an important component of raising competitiveness of national economics and energy safety of Ukraine,” Olexandr Vilkul noted.

Ukrainian scientists are working at adaptation of up-to-sate technologies to the needs of Ukrainian LED market, designing of national materials, constructions, systems among which are optical systems, electronic management systems, systems of thermal stabilization of powerful emitting diodes and others.

In the meeting were also participating head of the State Agency for Information, Science and Innovations Volodymyr Semynozhenko, director of Institute of Physics of half-conductors V.Machulin, head of State Target Program for production and introduction of LED lighting sources professor V.Sorokin and executive director of Association of LED lighting producers S.Khoperskyi.
