OREANDA-NEWS. June 10, 2013. The release conference on the corporate social responsibility (CSR) reports of the China industrial economics sectors and the launching ceremony of the social responsibility evaluation index system was held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. TISCO released its CSR report 2012 at the conference. This is TISCO’s third CSR report since 2010. 87 enterprises released their CSR reports 2012 at the conference.
     
Gu Xiulian, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of NPC and Honorary Chairwoman of China Federation of Industrial Economics (CFIE) took part in the conference. Li Yizhong, the Standing Committee Member of Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), Vice Director of Committee for Economic Affairs of CPPCC and Chairman of CFIE, Zhou Zixue, Chief Economist of MIIT, Huang Yi, Chief Engineer of State Administration of Work Safety, and Nie Shengkui, Director of Labor Relations Bureau of MHRSS took part in the conference and made important speeches. Wang Xinping, Deputy Secretary TISCO Committee of the Communist Party of China,took part in the conference on behalf of TISCO.
     
TISCO’s CSR Report 2012 comprehensively and systematically explains TISCO’s practices of and understanding to the CSR in the aspects of social responsibility management, corporate governance, economy, environment, employee, supply chains and society and shows the work carried out and the results achieved in making the core business stronger and bigger, technological innovation, product R&D, energy saving and environmental protection, resource development and utilization, steel further processing, development of diversification, workforce development and making contributions to the society. TISCO’s CSR Report 2012 also highlights the new value creation, better service to the interested parties, promotion the harmony with the government, investors, employee, clients, suppliers, community, the public and NGO, and the methods to make efforts to build the urban steel plant. The CSR report is also enriched with data on performance and cases, explanatory charts and terminology descriptions.
     
The Social Responsibility Evaluation Index System of China Industrial Enterprises, the CSR Star Rating Management Approach of China Industrial Enterprises, and the Review of CSR Development of China Industrial Enterprises from 2008 to 2012 and the Prospect of Development Trend were also released at the conference. The CSR development at home and abroad and other hot issues were discussed.
 
Among the 87 enterprises that released their CSR reports, 27 were SOEs, 41 were local SOEs, and 19 were private enterprises and FFEs. Among these enterprises, 48 were China Top 500 in 2012.
