OREANDA-NEWS. According to OAO Murmansk commercial seaport performance indicators, its coal transshipment volume in May 2012 was the largest ever in its history. During the month the coal shipments via the port amounted to 1,226,657 tonnes.

The Port's CEO Alexander Mas'ko believes that "this result stemmed from the well-coordinated performance of the entire workforce of the Port and the warehouse complex operations streamlining."

Currently, there's an investment project underway at the Port to upgrade its machinery and reorganize its warehouses aimed for a further increase in coal transshipment volumes.
